“Probably one of my most successful tries at new products.”
I picked up a few things that have been on my “buy next” list over the weekend and figured I’d share some first impressions! We have a gel moisturizer by Garnier and two face makeup products, one by Wet n Wild and another by Rimmel London.
- Wet n Wild Photo Focus foundation in shade nude ivory is going to take some getting used to. I like it, I really do! However, it’s more of a lighter coverage foundation than I expected. Watching reviews/tutorials on YouTube gave me higher expectations for the coverage, but I must also speak to how buildable this foundation is. I was able to apply a second coat and cover more areas without achieving cake face status.
2. Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream for normal/combo skin. It’s too early to call it, but this could prove to be a game-changer. Not only that, I could see this becoming a holy grail product. As a girl with oily skin, I look for lighter moisturizers. I completely understand that oily skin still needs hydration, but I would like to try my hand at a gel moisturizer. A little goes a long way, so I’m hopeful the jar will last awhile! Beautiful packaging for a decent price, too.
3. Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 004 (sandstorm) proved to be just as good as everyone claimed it was. Definitely helped my skin stay matte, and applied beautifully. It appears there are only 3 shades: transparent, 004 – sandstorm, and 005 – silky beige, but surprisingly sandstorm worked well for me with the Wet n Wild foundation.
Update: tried this new combination of products and wore it for 7 hours. My thoughts? Incredible! I can’t nail down which product might have helped conceal my shiny t-zone, but they may have all worked in conjunction. I’m going to keep experimenting with each of these individually.
Has anyone tried any of these products? Did you see similar results? I am loving them, and if I continue to do so, they will be repeat purchases.
