“My Dr. Brandt product was worth 2.5x what I paid for this box.”
Today we’re talking about April 2018 BOXYCHARM products! And I don’t typically start off a post with an exclamation mark so I must be excited!!! Lol.
No, but seriously, let’s just jump right in.
First up, let’s talk about the elephant in the room, the $47.00 Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum face mask.
It’s no secret that this product alone is worth roughly 2.5x the box’s cost (which is $20/month). This, by itself, is such a steal. I think I immediately enjoyed this mask the first time I used it. It applies as a clear jelly-like consistency, with tiny blue beads that massage into your skin. Once dried down, it turns a light blue color and has a chalky smooth feel to it. I love the feeling, as when it dries down it’s very cooling on the skin.
My skin feels GREAT after using this product – silky smooth and declogged. I’ve been using this face mask for 1-2 times a week about the last 3 weeks. I don’t notice a change in my shine-factor – which is no surprise since I’m oily af. But I do feel cleansed, and I will continue to use this up.
Second, I received my VERY FIRST MAC PRODUCT. Okay okay okay I know, all my beauty gurus are out there are like ‘are you joking‘… but no, I have never bought myself a MAC product. And I know it sounds as ridiculous as I feel typing it.
MAC Liptensity Lipstick in the shade ‘burnt violet’ runs $21.00.
This lipstick is very, very creamy. I gotta be honest I’m super hype to have this lipstick in my collection but I am just wondering… WTF is up with the shade? I barely have the balls to wear something bold in the fall let alone the middle of April. With that being said, I am still very excited to have this in my arsenal and will certainly work it into a fall look of 2018 – even tho it looks a teensy weensy bit streaky swatched but it’s fine we’ll make it work.
Next up is from The BrowGal – Instatint brow gel in light blonde – $22.00 on their website.
This product did not 👏🏻 come 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 play. I can’t believe how much this one shook me. One look at it and I was thinking, “this is too light for my eyebrows,” but no honey it builds up extremely nicely. This filled in my brow so quickly and is 100% fool proof.
I’m a girl who doesn’t even do my brows so for me to like this is saying something. I will continue to use it – I’m impressed!
I’m so happy to receive the Colourpop Element of Surprise eyeshadow palette which doesn’t take a whole paycheck to splurge on (thank you, Colourpop 🙏🏻 ).
As you can see, this palette really is an element of surprise. You get a splash of pink and a couple holographic shimmer shades to ‘wow’ on the lid. Yet this palette still includes a couple natural shades with a dark creamy brown to darken the outer crease – everything you need to create a one-palette look. I love Colourpop eyeshadow palettes so it’s no surprise to anyone that I love this one too. I will always accept a CP palette into my collection no matter the lack of space.
Lastly are these adorable SLMissGlam eyeshadow brush duo for $38.50 (currently sold out).
This value and the Dr. Brandt items make me never want to quit Boxycharm if I’m honest. First, the look – so beautifully gorgeous! These brushes are a staple for any gal’s growing makeup vanity collection.
Secondly, the purple-tipped brush is coming for my Beau Gachis tapered blending brush (which, btw, I’m obsessed with). It is so soft and I love how flimsy it is for blending shades into my crease. This is also a phenomenal brush to smooth and blend out any harsh colors as it distributes your crease shade SO. NICELY. Ugh – I’m so happy to add these brushes to my collection.
And that’s the box review today! This was a bit of a lengthy post – I think I’m a little chatty. Work has been stressful so I come here to release a bit of stress and anxious-ness. I hope all you lovely readers enjoyed (if you made it to the end). Thanks for stopping by.
